Need community service hours? Interested in working with children in Ithaca?

 

The 37th Annual Festival of Black Gospel presents three community service opportunities taking place March 22nd.

1. PROJECT SUNSHINE

ITHACA COLLEGE, CAMPUS CENTER 201 EGBERT HALL

Volunteer opportunities available from 1-4pm

We are collaborating with Project Sunshine, an organization aimed towards helping children who face medical problems by knitting items for patients, as well as creating "Sunny Grams," handmade greeting cards to send directly to patients. Our project will focus on creating greeting cards for patients. We will also have a donation box for crafting items (e.g., yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, other art supplies).

 

2. STUDENT-TO-STUDENT MENTORING INITIATIVE

BEVERLY J. MARTIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 302 W. BUFFALO ST

This is an opportunity to engage in hands-on activities with local children. We will be helping the students create musical instruments as well as creating a mural. Volunteer opportunities available 12-4pm

 

3. THE 37TH ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF BLACK GOSPEL (FBG) CONCERTSTATE STREET THEATER 107 W. STATE ST

Get the opportunity to see The Walls Group perform, while also getting community service hours! Tasks Include: Set-up, clean-up, ushering, concession,etc. Volunteer opportunities available from 12pm-10pm
